The NBIC “R” stamp covers pressure relief equipment, along with pressure vessels and boilers. The guideline specifies procedures relating to the manufacture, installation, inspection, alteration, and repair of these precision devices. NBIC standards are updated biannually to ensure that they reflect evolving best practices and improving technologies. During revision years, updates are published on the NBIC’s official website and become accessible to the public during the month of August. The National Board Inspection Code was first launched in 1946.
