Railroad Metal Fabrication Capabilities

With almost 2200 trains used in Houston’s rail system comprised of 800 miles of track and 21 miles of rail bridges, the need for a first-class fabrication facility serving the railroad industry is critical to maintain the ongoing operation.

Tech-Fab has a 15-year track record of successful projects under our belt serving these companies on any project, large or small. We offer solutions including custom designing, fabricating, and installing freight and rail car components.

Custom Design

Once the application is fully understood and defined, Tech-Fab custom designs each solution incorporating International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards to ensure compliance in the most severe environmental conditions. If your application requires additional code compliance, give our experts a call to discuss your fabrication needs.

Facility

Tech-Fab’s 26,000 square foot facility meets all the standards and procedures to handle Rail Industry fabrication projects. In many cases, we prefabricate the heavy steel frames and structures for rail cars so they can be quickly installed at remote locations. Our welders are AWS certified and our welding services include Flux Core Arc, MIG, TIG, SAW, TCAW, GMAW and SMAW on a variety of metals. These metals include:

  • Carbon Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Nickel Alloy
  • Aluminum
  • Titanium
  • Inconel

Our expert personnel can produce structural steel for skids, siphon pipe, steam channels, and other rail car and locomotive components.
