Gas Metal Arc Welding

As Houston's top metal fabricator, Tech-Fab proudly offers gas metal arc welding (GMAW), including MIG and MAG welding. These are the most common types of welding due to their versatility and consistent weld quality. GMAW can be used for many industrial applications and is most commonly used to join or seal flat surfaces and large pieces. While it is not used for structural welding, it is an effective welding process for housings, enclosures, marine tanks and production equipment. Gas metal arc, MIG and MAG welding can be used on a wide range of metals, and provide good beads with minimal slag or spatter. We offer spray, pulsed spray, globular and short-circuiting GMAW, and will select the most effective welding method for your application.

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Process

Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), often referred to as metal inert gas (MIG) welding or metal active gas (MAG) welding, is a welding process in which an electric arc forms between a wire electrode, the workpiece metal, which heats and causes the workpiece metal to join.

All of our welders are highly skilled and are trained in the latest production methods and safety requirements. In addition, our welders are AWS certified and all of our welding services meet the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section VIII Division 1 and ABS standards.

Our expert project management staff will work with you to ensure your project is completed on time, on budget and of the highest quality.

Tech-Fab has the GMAW and MIG experience and expertise to fabricate products for your process equipment, marine and offshore industrial application to the highest quality standards. Call Tech-Fab today to request a quote for your application.
